Every May, the historic streets of Vittorio Veneto transform. Quiet morning air gets replaced by the buzz of hundreds of trail runners pacing around the Campo Sportivo di Costa, checking their gear, stretching their calves, and looking up at the towering limestone walls of the Prealpi Venete.
The Madruk Trail is a community-driven celebration of mountain running, technical terrain, and pure grit.
1. The Madruk Trail (27K | 1,800m D+)
The flagship distance. This route doesn’t believe in gentle warm-ups. Almost immediately after the starting gun sounds, runners are funneled into demanding, narrow singletracks winding up the mountain forests.
- The Terrain: Think loose limestone rocks, exposed root sections, and airy, sweeping alpine crests that demand total concentration.
- The Reward: Crossing the finish line here means conquering a mountain, plus banking 2 ITRA points and a 20K UTMB Index qualification.
2. The Madruk Short & Non-Competitive (16K | 930m D+)
Don't let the word "short" fool you. Packing nearly 1,000 meters of pure elevation gain into just 16 kilometers means the climbs are punchy, steep, and unrelenting.
The Best Part: The 16K also features a non-competitive version. This brings a beautiful mix of serious local racers sharing the trail with outdoor enthusiasts who just want to experience the legendary paths of the Prealpi Venete without the pressure of the clock.
A Shared Mission: The "Spirito Trail"
What makes the Madruk Trail truly unforgettable is the respect built into the race. The event operates entirely under the "Spirito Trail" clean campaign.
Runners carry their own reusable cups, and there are strict "leave no trace" rules across every section of the course—ensuring the pristine beech forests and nearby local gems like the Grotte del Caglieron stay entirely untouched.
As a proud sponsor, Chimpanzee Nutrition was out there alongside the volunteers, stocking the aid stations with real-food fuel to help runners power up those brutal final climbs. Huge congrats to the hundreds of finishers who left it all out on the trails of Vittorio Veneto!
