If you’ve ever lined up at the start on the Marienallee or tackled the grueling climbs of the Dresdner Heide, you know this event is something special. The MTB Marathon Dresden is a true community-driven race that brings together hundreds of passionate riders—from the tiny shredders in the U7 kids' race to elite marathoners crushing the grueling 72.5 km distance.
What makes this marathon so close to our hearts at Chimpanzee isn't just the sheer grit of the steep climbs (which demand every ounce of energy a rider has!). It’s the spirit of the event:
- The Vibe: The legendary race-packet pickup at the Thalia Cinema, where riders toast with a cold drink, watch World Cup replays, and catch up with old friends before race day.
- The Care for Nature: The organizers' deep commitment to sustainability, ensuring the tracks don't overburden the beautiful forest, and reminding every rider to look out for fellow nature-lovers.
- The Heart: A dedicated team of local volunteers and over 500 roaring spectators filling the start/finish area to lift riders up when their legs start to burn.
